Wasdale Historic Photo gallery & Local history group

I've recently been sent some superb old photos of Wasdale and thought that they warranted a section of their own. It would also be great if we were able to develop and build an archive of vintage Wasdale photos, so if you have any send them in and let's get the archive under way.

Wasdale Local History Group

The newly-formed Local History Group had its first meeting on 3 June.  Its aim is to research the local history of Wasdale, selecting items that might be of interest both to the local population and visitors, and making this information available through publications and displays.

If you have any old photographs, newspaper cuttings, etc. that you think might be of interest please contact Norma Hughes (25366) or leave them at either The Screes or The Strands.   It may be that you have tales to tell about “the old days” that have been passed down through your family and if so we would love to hear them!

Meeting will be held regulaly in the Old School , more info in the events calendar.  We would welcome anyone who would like to join the group – we need as many people and as much information as possible.
